The WeatherShield1 is able to read temperature, pressure and humidity values from the environment. It's equipped with a microcontroller that manages sampling and performs moving average on the last 8 samples. It's connected to the Arduino board though a synchronous bidirectional serial protocol similar to what was implemented in the MM5450 LED driver.
